Norway attracts people from all over the world to visit its shores in all seasons; from summer with its lengthy daylight, to the short snow filled days of winter. Strolling along the Bogstadveien, gives visitors a chance to take in the city and browse through the fashionable stores of this area, or else to simply sit in one of the bars or cafes and look at the local citizens going about their ways.

2. Changing of the guard

Among the must see things in Norway is viewing the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace in Oslo. This event takes place daily at 1.30pm until 2.10pm. In the summertime, a Norwegian military band and mounted police escort the guards through Norway’s capital city.

3.Frogner Park

The attraction of the 80-acre outdoor Vigeland Sculpture Park. 212 of the most unusual and     most interesting sculptures of bronze and granite, designed by Gustav Vigeland are spread around the park. The scenic layout of the park, he also designed and the park is often referred to as the Frognerpark as well.

Oseberg Ship.

The Viking Ship Museum located in the Bygdøy peninsula of Oslo is one of the top ten things to see in Norway. The museum houses    ships, legends, and folklore, of those bygone days and other artifacts as well, including those items found at the burial mound digs of Oseberg, Gokstad, and Tune.

The Holmenkollen Ski Jump is also one of the things to see while you are in Norway. During winter, it attracts many people for sledding or playing in the snow. The steep hill comes alive with people cross-country skiing and the sight of toboggans. The view over Oslo from here is quite superb.

Lillehammer

The Winter Olympics of 1994 were held in Lillehammer. In summer, this is a popular area for hiking or fishing in the Mesna River. A visit to the Maihaugen open- air museum is delightful as is going to the Jorekstad waterpark. Shop in Storgata Street, designed for pedestrians only. During the winter, there are options of skiing, dogsledding, sleigh rides or visiting   Hunderfossen Winterpark, a winter amusement park.

Bergen
Visiting Bergen and seeing the 14th century Hanseatic buildings, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bergen is an unforgettable experience. There are still over sixty buildings of the original wharf for visitors to see and this is certainly one of the top sights of Norway. Picturesque Bergen is the second city of Norway and was formerly a Hanseatic trading port.

Trondheim

The smaller city of Trondheim, founded in 997A.D. was the first capital of Norway. This is a fairy-tale like area of Norway, particularly beautiful in the late summer and autumn. The seafood in Trondheim is fresh from the sea and most delectable. Explore the Nidaros Cathedral, the largest church in Northern Europe, and meander through the town and look at the many historical buildings. The largest sundial in the world is in Trondheim.

Tromso and the Arctic Circle
The spectacular visions of the northern lights are magical for those lucky enough to catch a glimpse. From Tromso, which houses the northernmost brewery, university, and Arctic cathedral, is the start of excursions to view these incredible sights. There is no set time for the skylight patterns of the Aurora Borealis to appear, so plenty of patience is required. However, to see them is certainly worth the wait. Dress warmly and take along flasks of hot chocolate or other sustenance for keeping warm outside in the icy Arctic temperature!
